VERY COOL STUFF

CADILLAC CONCEPT by LOREN KULESUS

For the 100th anniversary of Cadillac Loren Kulesus designed a car built to last another 100 years on the same fuel source. This car is an exercise in design for the brand Cadillac, sustainability, and social influence. Very Hot!.This vehicle was designed with high-quality materials that are build to resist 100-years of daily use. There are redundancies built for all the major systems of the vehicle so even if something were to fail on the vehicle it would continue to function. This is why the vehicle has 24 wheels with individual internal induction motors. The vehicle would require the tires to be adjusted every 5 years, but no material would need to be added or subtracted.Via Coroflor

HORCH 853  VOLL & RUHRBECK SPORT CABRIOLET 1937

After working with Karl Benz for a couple of years, August Horch started producing cars under his own name as August Horch & Cie in 1899. In those early years, August engineered many ground breaking designs, including a friction clutch and shaft-driven rear wheels in lieu of chains. He left the company he began, to form Audi (the latin translation of his surname) in 1909 due in part to a dispute with his shareholders. Production of Horch models continued without him and in 1926 the Horch company introduced a new model powered by a straight eight engine.

LANCIA BERTONE STRATOS CONCEPT CAR (1970)

Bertone stunned the world at the 1970 Turin Motorshow with their Stratos Zero design. Nuccio Bertone initially wanted to call the ultra-compact wedge-shape design Stratoline because of its space-ship-like appearance. Not much on the Stratos concept was conventional, except for the fact that the wheels were round. Fitted low and midships in the chassis was a 1.6 Lancia Fulvia powerplant. The running prototype featured an all new monocoque style chassis, custom built for the Stratos. In the next few months the concept appeared in magazines all over the world and Lancia talked with Bertone to construct a purpose built rally based on the Stratos design. This car debuted at the 1971 Turin Motorshow and resembled the previous Stratos in name only.

MARCOS MANTIS XP (1968)

One of the undoubted show stoppers at this year’s Festival of Speed is the extraordinary Mantis XP. Conceived by Bradford-on-Avon constructor Marcos, and styled by Dennis Adams, this timber-hulled, mid-engined sports-racer was built in 1968 and raced only once in period. It was entered for that year’s Spa 1000km for Eddie Nelson and Grand Prix occasional, Robin Widows. When the latter decided to sit out the race, marque founder Jem Marsh took his place, although the former stuntman found contorting his 6ft 5in frame into the ultra-low cabin a bit of a chore. The car retired from the epically wet race early on its three-litre Repco F1 engine was subsequently removed and replaced with a Buick V8. The by now road legal machine was sold to an American enthusiast and 40 years later it remains in the same family ownership.

ROLL ROYCE 40 50-HP PHANTOM I BARKER TORPEDO TOURER(1962)

The 40/50 HP Silver Ghost models were sold for a period of fifteen years as the companies only offering. By 1922, the Rolls-Royce Company began offering the Twenty which was offered to a larger market, though still very exclusive. Competition such as Hispano Suiza had caught up with Rolls-Royce by 1925; Rolls-Royce responded. Development began on a more modern version of its Silver Ghost engine that would be more powerful and durable. The stroke was enlarged providing a greater increase in horsepower. The resulting vehicle was named the ’40/50 New Phantom’. When the Phantom II was introduced in 1929, the ’40/50 New Phantom’

WOW BIKES by ARON ARAD

With elaborate design, a bike’s wheel frames now present really beautiful shapes of flowers.  CUSTOM FORD BEATNIK (955)

Via USAToday … Bubbletops are unquestionably an enthralling part of the custom car world, and the one we are talking about here is one good, gorgeous baby to look at. Built by Gary “Chopit” Fioto, the 1955 Ford “Beatnik” Bubbletop Custom is expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000 at RM Auction’s Amelia Island event on March 12, 2011. Inspired by futuristic design studies from the ‘50s, the Beatnik is a lavender 1955 Ford-based custom, rides on a modified ‘88 Lincoln Town Car chassis and gets its power from a Chevrolet 350-cubic inch small-block V8 engine. For the Beatnik, Fioto used a mix of Cadillac, Chrysler and Lincoln components, including the canted quad headlights. The front and rear fenders, the door skins and the rear section of the car are hand-formed.In 2006, the custom Bubbletop won the coveted $20,000 Grand Prize at Darryl Starbird’s National Rod and Custom Car Show. The Beatnik has received a number of awards, including the “Blackie” Gejeian’s 2005 Fresno Autorama Sweepstakes Award, “Outstanding Custom” at the 2006 Grand National Roadster Show and the George Barris Kustom d’Elegance Award.

RENARD GRAND TOURER MOTORCYCLE

The GT’s carbon-fiber and Kevlar monocoque makes it one of the most drool-worthy motorcycles we’ve seen. Its Moto Guzzi V2, pushes 125 horses, and the bike tops out at 142mph.

“With the new C3 Hellcat, we set out to build the toughest motorcycle ever made. This mandated absolute chassis and powertrain rigidity along with complete resistance to core fatigue. To do this, we developed a new unitized powertrain casing, which is precision carved from a 400 pound block of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. The result is superior structural integrity, weighing in at only 40 pounds. Within the new casing lives a big-boned, large diameter chassis/powertrain mounting system, informed by twenty years of Hellcat design.” – Confederate
